Brief - Pro4u contacted me because they themselves found problems in their website design, layout and information architecture. They wanted my help in creating a more modern version of their website that reflects them well as a company and caters to their users needs. My goal is to create a solution that is simple to navigate and understand with a design that establishes trust to promote new relationships with potential customers/consultants.
Summary - Drawing on the insights gained from extensive research, attention to technical constraints, and a deep understanding of Pro4u's brand identity, I crafted an updated version of their website. The new design boasts a cohesive visual identity, carefully selecting imagery that encapsulates Pro4u's affiliation with the ocean, sailing, and lighthouses. Additionally, I incorporated an engaging and informative company description, ensuring that new users are greeted with a comprehensive overview that effectively communicates Pro4u's mission, values, and the range of services they offer. By addressing the identified pain points and incorporating Pro4u's desired brand elements, the website now serves as a powerful tool for fostering new relationships, facilitating connections between consultants and customers, and promoting Pro4u's growth in the IT consulting industry.

2023
Interview - Before I could start the project I needed a deeper understanding of the company as a whole, their business goals and their users needs. I therefore conducted an interview with the company owner where they could convey their thoughts and wishes such as wanting their website to feel more personal and easy to connect to, describe their company and users, what the end goal of the website is and also where I could convey my thoughts, what was possible within my timeframe to align our expectations of the project.
Brand identity - Pro4u's brand identity is closely intertwined with the ocean, sailing, and lighthouses. These elements resonate deeply with the core values of Pro4u and serve as a visual representation of their commitment to reliability, stability, and guiding their clients through the vast and complex landscape of IT consulting. With this knowledge in mind, I incorporated these elements into the website's design, particularly in the selection of images and graphics. The resulting visual composition creates a cohesive and visually captivating experience that harmonies with Pro4u's brand identity, fostering a sense of trust and credibility.
Analysing website- Thereafter I conducted a meticulous analysis of Pro4u's existing website. Their website consists of 9 main pages, each with a different focus group or area. Looking at the existing pages it became apparent that the website does not follow modern design norms, giving it a dated appearance. For instance throughout the website there is a lot of padding on the sides creating an empty and unfinished look. They use small and uncaptivating pictures which doesn't draw the intended focus. And they also use larger sections of text without a clear structure which makes is harder to convey the information written.
Benchmarking - I conducted a benchmarking analysis of successful consultant companies where I identified key elements for an impactful online presence. By incorporating large, visually engaging images, concise text sections, minimising side padding and utilising a full size hero image, can create a more visually captivating and modern looking website. These design enhancements will ensure that the website aligns with industry standards, leaving a lasting positive impression. Additionally, to fulfil Pro4u's own wish for a personal touch, I integrated authentic images of the people behind the company, particularly on the homepage. This approach establishes a sense of warmth and connection with users. By showcasing the team and creating a personal experience, we foster stronger connections with the audience, attracting new users and strengthening relationships with existing customers and partners.
User research - In order to gain a deeper understanding of Pro4u's target audience, I delved into their Google Analytics data aswell as permorning card sorting tests on a select test group provided by Pro4u. From conducting extensive research of their Google Analytics I could present informed suggestions for improvements to meet their users needs. The results of the card sorting tests were remarkably positive, indicating a high level of alignment among participants.
After I finished my suggested design I held a pitch to the company board. The feedback I got was great, the board approved my suggested changes and wanted me to implement them into their website right away. During the summer 2023 I therefore worked internally on their CMS program (Wordpress) to implement my design which is live today.
